Sailing with Skipper Aris on Erato

Skipper Aris was enjoying a pleasant late afternoon onboard, watching people out for a stroll in the cooler temperatures, including me, waiting patiently for the perfect sunset photo of the multi-layered Peloponnesian mountains “kaleidoscoping” into hues of lavender and mauve beyond the sparkling peach sea.  After awhile, he walked down the gangway, and with a welcoming smile, asked whether I would like a photo of myself with the sunset I apparently loved so much. Then, I was invited onboard for a few more photos in which my very dirty bare feet on Erato’s very white deck convey something about our characters.  Next, on the impromptu agenda was ouzo and pastries while we emersed ourselves in conversation about everything imaginable - the dawn of a friendship at dusk.

Since that first meeting, I have sailed countless times with Skipper Aris and never cease to find the sea exhilarating and full of treasures to offer, like baby dolphins leaping around the prow or underwater landscapes to explore while anchored near secluded beaches.
